Roundtable
Multi-tier communication in the supply chain is accomplished with the introduction of the “Round Table” at the level of the respective delivery. A Round Table is an interdivisional team of experts from both the customer and supplier for each delivery. Members of the Round Table team are responsible for the implementation of the maturity level method, conducting of team activities, management of information, and communication, reporting and escalation in each organization.
The definition of roles and responsibilities is a precondition to success of complex communication challenges found in product communities. The VDA has defined a model that promotes accountability, systematic dialog, and a clear method of engagement between companies who are working on a common goal. Successful product communities have timely and efficient communications enabled by effective team structure and collaboration methods.
